Lily & Mark’s Pre-Wedding Shoot
Lily & Mark are such a cool (and talented) couple that just happen to be extremely talented as well! Damn, cool and talented! This was one of our favourite portrait shoots of 2011, which took place in the beautiful grounds of Clandon Park in Guildford… We also have some great pics to share from their wedding day which took place in December, but more of that in a future post! Lily wanted her horse Cherokee featured in some of the pictures, and we have to say he was very well behaved on the portrait shoot. We hope you like this series of images!
Family Photoshoot — Essex
We had so much fun on this family portrait shoot, and Rob, Ling and Hayden were great fun to work with. I’ve known Rob for a couple of years now and we were delighted to meet his wife Ling and their son Hayden. I should of course mention little Smig the dog, who had more energy than a nuclear power station! This lifestyle shot took place at Weald Park near Brentwood in Essex, and it provided us with some great locations to work with. I hope you like the pics!
Amy’s Portrait | Portrait Photography Sutton
On a recent lifestyle shoot in Sutton Brenda took what was one of our favourite children’s portraits to date. Here’s Brenda on the thinking behind the image:
“This photo that I took of Amy was and wasn’t an accident. I knew that Amy was playing around the tree and I loved the way this scene looked through my 70-200mm lens– the huge tree trunk and branches framing the picture, the sun shining through where hopefully Amy would at some point come and stand, making her backlit, and enough foreground to make her small in the picture. I wanted to create a ‘little girl lost in the forest’ type of shot.
After framing up the backdrop I just had to wait for Amy to come round and when she did I snapped away. I love the way her hand is resting on the tree and her right foot is in mid-run, giving a sense of movement. I won’t lie, Amy was hard to keep up with and sometimes too fast for my camera. But I’m glad that my patience for this photo paid off.”

Teen Fashion Portrait Shoots– London South Bank & Gloucestershire

We have two teenage fashion shoots to share with you today. The first was taken by Brenda during the recent Damien Lovegrove workshop she attended in Gloucestershire. Damien is one of the top wedding and portrait photographers in the UK, and is an inspiring and extremely knowledgeable teacher. He was formerly a lighting director at the BBC so what he doesn’t know about lighting isn’t worth knowing! Brenda learned a huge amount on the day, and as you can see got some amazing shots in the process! The second shoot saw us head up to the South Bank in London to do a teen fashion shoot for Brenda’s two daughters, Charlotte and Rachel. The girls were great models, and the locations around the South Bank are perfect for this kind of shoot. In fact I think that they may have enjoyed it too much! We are huge fans of this kind of environmental lifestyle shoot, as they can lead to more creative and interesting portraits, and in turn are more enjoyable for our clients than a shoot in a sterile studio environment; we hope you like the shots! Jon and Kelly’s Pre-Wedding Shoot
Despite the windy weather we had a fantastic time at Jon and Kelly’s Pre Wedding Shoot at the very impressive wedding venue Cooling Castle Barn, near Rochester in Kent. Jon and Kelly are a very warm and friendly couple, and we’re really looking forwards to their wedding day on 22nd January! Hope you like the pics from this pre-wedding shoot.
